We are passionate about their development, to create the best of the best working line, through continuous, progressive and selective breeding from fully health tested dogs using the most successful sires from around the world, to create a strain; consistent in type, biddable in nature, athletic and robust in structure with high prey drive mentality, who are winners in every field.

About Us

The kennels are situated in the Lower Kaimai Range of The Bay of Plenty.

Established in 2010 to develop a growing passion for working cocker spaniels; training, trialling and breeding.

Andrew's interest in cockers was founded observing the attributes of the dogs owned by Bob Clarke of Eskdale Shooting Services.

Andrew is a Natural game Spaniel Judge for the New Zealand Gundog Trialling Association and for 10 years held the  position of Secretary and Treasurer of The Working Spaniel Club.

Andrews first cocker was a lemon roan bitch - Coblye Little Lemon (Lilly) bred from UK lines. With much help from that bastion of the NZ gundog world Bob Whitehead, Andrew made Lilly up to Field Trial Champion at 20 months of age. With a small gene pool in New Zealand, Andrew imported semen from the UK choosing Will Clulee's FTCH Argyll Warrior, it was from this mating the Border Reiver line was founded.
